What an excellent day out, hopefully it'll be a full weekend with VIP passes next year! Here's a little montage of clips I threw together, put to some suitable music
Some stills.. Tank rides on the way in
T-54? saw this on the way in but it seemed to disappear, didn't see it later in the day
Sherman(?) used in the upcoming film 'Fury'
Jackson, Wolverine or Hellcat? (and Tom smiling!!)
Fraternising with ze Germans
First pic from the fully functioning airstrip, all the planes present flew. There was a planned para drop from this one but as it flew over our head on a display flight Hbox commented it was 'missing'. Sure enough, half an hour later, an announcement was made that the Dakota had made a precautionary, unplanned, landing nearby.
Kids with guns..
Smile, Tom
Start of the 'Falaise Pocket' re-enactment
"That's a Ferdinand" said someone behind us, Tom put 'em right.
A Hurricane coming in for a strafing run
The Yanks arrive
The re-enactors took it seriously even treating the wounded. The hedge mostly obscures him but the medic is hauling a casualty out of harms way by his webbing. Note the genuine WWII digital camera in use.
The burning haystack was unintentional but added to the atmosphere
Happy as a turtle in mud
Not something you see(or hear) everyday Tom
